What can I cook in a SUN OVEN?

Any food that you can cook in a conventional electric oven , gas oven or Jiko can be cooked in a SUN OVEN, except fried foods. You can bake, boil and steam food. You can boil water. You can dehydrate fruits and vegetables.

Will food cooked in a SUN OVEN taste the same as food cooked in a gas or electric oven?

The food tastes much better! SUN OVEN cooking allows many of the natural flavours and juices of food to remain. Sun baked foods stay moist and shrink less.

Which pots and pans are suitable for cooking in a SUN OVEN?

Dark, thin-walled pots with lids work best. Glass casserole dishes with lids also work well. For baking bread, use dark loaf pans. For baking biscuits, cookies and queen cakes use dark baking trays.

Can more than one dish be cooked at the same time?

Yes. You can bake two loaves of bread at the same time. For other dishes ,flat pans can be cross-stacked , and stackable pots can be arranged on the levelling tray.

Does food need to be stirred?

No. Stirring is not required because the temperature of the food and the pot remain the same and rise evenly . It is almost impossible to burn food in a SUN OVEN. SUN OVEN becomes a convenient option when you need to cook and attend to other duties at the same time.

Do I need to connect the SUN OVEN to a power source?

No. The SUN OVEN is a self-sufficient appliance; no external power source is needed. There are no additional equipment or fuel costs incurred after purchasing a SUN OVEN.
